Waterworld: H2O Minutes - Episode 88 | "Water’s End - Part 3: The Battle for Dry Land"

Morgan, Helen, and others flee the pirate flotilla but soon stumble upon a massive vessel that turns out to be a tanker ship. There, they meet its sole resident, Cornelius, and discover the secret of Enola’s unique tattoo. Suddenly, pirates attack and the group must hold them off long enough to find a bearing that leads to water’s end.

Helen and Enola are traded away to a troupe of submariners and quickly find themselves captured by the same pirates who decimated their home. Enola is drugged and leads the pirates back to Morgan. They torch his boat and kill his horse, but Morgan reaches the pirate flotilla and makes a startling discovery about what happened to his family.

After barely managing to survive an attack on their flotilla by the fearsome Pirate Lord Lazlo, Helen and Enola manage to sneak their way onto The Miranda and strike a flimsy deal with its captain, Morgan. The grumpy drifter is bent on revenge against Lazlo, but before he can track down his target, a storm blows in and threatens to destroy everything.

The Mariner stands at the tiller of his catamaran, with his sights set on the horizon. Back on dryland, Enola and Helen reach the peak of the island and find a metal plaque revealing that they are standing on the peak of Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth. The camera pulls out into a helicopter shot and the credits begin to roll.

Helen and The Mariner share a kiss and she offers him a gift. The Mariner is wary of such a thing, but Helen insists and bestows on him a name that He can use the next time he meets people. She tells the story of Ulysses, and says it now belongs to him. The Mariner agrees that it is a good name and takes to the sea.

The Mariner returns to his catamaran with Enola’s music box and says his goodbyes to Gregor and The Enforcer. Gregor hands him a bag of dirt, telling him not to spend it all in one place, while The Enforcer simply offers a hearty handshake. Helen asks why The Mariner has decided to leave, He responds by saying he will find others worthy of dryland, and perhaps even other mutants.

Gregor and The Enforcer enter one of the huts and find a pair of skeletons alongside a table covered in tattooing supplies. Enola arrives and confirms their suspicions by declaring that she is home. Outside, The Mariner is having a rough time adjusting to dryland while a small herd of horses passes nearby.

The Airship has finally reached Dryland with lush green forests covering a wide valley. Gregor lands on the shoreline and the party disembarks to find flowing freshwater. The others are elated, but The Mariner proves more uneasy. Progressing further inland, The Enforcer leads the others to a pair of stick and grass huts,

Finally safe from the Smokers, Gregor uses a map and sextant to point the airship towards dryland. Days pass and, though provisions are growing scarce, the airship continues onward. One morning, The Mariner is awoken by an unfamiliar sound and opens his eyes to see a seagull perched on the edge of the airship’s basket.

With his ship underwater and his smokers scattered, Deacon shoots at the airship. Enola loses her balance and falls into the water below. Deacon and two of his cohorts rush to grab Enola, but The Mariner grabs a rope and leaps from the Airship. He grabs Enola in the nick of time and the two of them fly out of harm's way as Deacon and his smokers destroy each other.

The Mariner finds Enola unharmed and with the arrival of Gregor’s Airship, they quickly escape the burning ship. Helen and the Enforcer begin to pull up Enola and The Mariner but they are hindered by Deacon who has also grabbed onto the rope. Helen knocks Deacon from the rope. With everyone safely on the Airship, they look down to see the ‘Dez sinking into the water.

The Mariner arrives on the bridge only to find that Deacon has dragged Enola down to the seaplane. Nord arrives to shoot the Mariner, but his gun is empty and he’s quickly dispatched. On the deck, Deacon is taxiing along the deck to take off and escape. The Mariner grabs a harpoon gun, swings down to the deck, and uses a hook to disable the seaplane.

Deacon’s control over the situation is shattered as The Mariner drops his flare into the oil reserve, kicking off a chain reaction of explosions that begin tearing the ship apart. The Mariner dives through an opening in the deck as the smokers begin to panic. The Mariner dodges gunfire in the belly of the ‘Dez eventually coming face to face with Nord in the Deacon-mobile.

The Mariner places himself squarely in Deacon’s sights and reveals himself, much to Nord’s amusement and Enola’s elation. Pointing up at the bridge, He demands Enola’s release. Deacon has nothing but insults for The Mariner, but his tone changes once The Mariner pulls a flare from his jacket and threatens to ignite the ship’s oil reserve.

As Nord holds Enola aloft, Deacon declares her to be the Smokers’ salvation, the very thing that will lead them to Dryland. He smashes a bottle against the handrailing and whips his congregation into a fervor as they rush to their stations and begin rowing. The deck clears, revealing a lone figure looking to challenge Deacon.

While the Mariner moves through the guts of the Deez, Enola weaves a tale of his supernatural abilities but Nord is none too impressed. Deacon reaches the crescendo of his speech and Nord carries Enola out onto the balcony where she’s held up before the cheering horde.

Having flattened one smoker, the Mariner is approached by two others who surprisingly laugh off the situation and let him leave unchallenged. As the Mariner makes his way through the Deez, Enola taunts Nord while he waits for his signal to present her to the crowd. Outside, Deacon continues his sermon, declaring that one day they will dominate Dryland.

Deacon stands on his balcony, commanding his flock to have faith in his guidance. Far below, the Mariner sees two smokers have discovered his stolen jet ski. He leaps from the deck and drowns the men before stealing their clothes for a disguise and entering the ship through the jet ski garage, flattening one of the smoker mechanics in the process.

The Mariner uses holes in the side of the ship to scale the hull of the Deez, at the top he finds that the Deacon has called a meeting of his smokers. The greasy horde streams onto the deck as the Mariner finds a place to hide behind a shipping container. Deacon dispenses cans of meat before taking his place at the microphone and addressing his parish.
