Fury Road Minute 20 - Foolish… but welcome

With their sights set on the War Rig, the Buzzards descend on the convoy. Furiosa is the first to spot them and instructs Ace to ready the War Boys for battle, despite his assertions that they turn tail. The Convoy presses on, but it’s not long before the first escort falls victim to a devilish trap set by the raiders.

Fury Road Minute 19 - They’re firing flares

The plot thickens as Furiosa’s War Boys catch sight of flares fired by Immortan Joe’s War Party. Intrigued by this new development, Ace returns to Furiosa and asks for an explanation but She only offers another platitude. On a nearby ridge, a new vehicle appears, one covered in spikes and driven by Russian-speaking strangers.

Fury Road Minute 18 - Scanning the horizon

The War Party thunders across the wasteland to the raucous soundtrack provided by the Doof Warrior, and right out front is Nux trying to catch the eye of Immortan Joe. As He shouts and salutes, Nux is blessed with the slightest glance from The Immortan, and rejoices by raising his steering wheel in celebration and speeding ahead.

Fury Road Minute 17 - High-octane crazy blood

With Slit and the Organic Mechanic both certain that He is unfit to drive in the War Party, Nux has to get creative and insists on strapping his blood bag, a muzzled Max, to the front of the pursuit vehicle. Nux follows this up with a headbutt that throws Slit to the ground and declares his intention to claim glory on the Fury Road.

Fury Road Minute 16 - Treason, betrayal, an Imperator gone rogue

As the drums of war echo through the Citadel to the blood bank, Nux sits anxiously watching a stream of other War Boys rushing by to claim their steering wheels from the altar of the mighty V8, but being hooked up to a blood bag isn’t enough to stop Nux from reaching out and stopping his lancer from giving himself a promotion.

Fury Road Minute 15 - They begged her to go

Stepping through the tunnel that leads to his private harem, Immortan Joe calls out for the wives that he has trapped in this gilded cage, but all he finds is defiant graffiti and the double barrels of Miss Giddy’s shotgun. Not one to let such a thing slide, Joe grabs the old woman and calls for his War Party to assemble.

Fury Road Minute 14 - You know about this?

Back at the Citadel, amidst several maids-a-milking, Immortan Joe and Rictus Erectus sample a batch of Mother’s Milk. This quality control inspection is interrupted by Corpus Colossus whose keen eyes have caught sight of The War Rig’s unplanned detour, a revelation that sends Joe running for his vault.

With things taking an unexpected left turn, Ace is on the case to find out exactly what’s going on, but Furiosa isn’t about to divulge her plans and pacifies him with her vague answers, which he dutifully passes along. The War Boys are likewise wary of their new orders but are nonetheless quick to adapt and comply.

Back in The Citadel, Max sits bound and muzzled in a hanging cage, he is now a blood bag. The Organic Mechanic, the closest thing to a doctor in the fortress, arrives and calls for Max to be hooked up to a War Boy. Meanwhile, out on the road Furiosa steels herself, and turns the steering wheel to head out into the wasteland.

Fury Road Minute 11 - Convoy's on its way

Furiosa and her escort leave The Citadel on their way to Gas Town, leaving the enforcers on the massive elevator to fight back the wretched. His duty finished, Immortan Joe leaves his balcony as his son, Rictus Erectus, instructs a nearby Imperator to signal Gas Town that a delivery will soon arrive. Out on the road, the War Rig and its convoy speed along unassailed.

Fury Road Minute 10 - It will take hold of you

At Immortan Joe’s whim, great torrents of water flow forth from massive pipes in the side of The Citadel. Far below the wretched scramble to fill their paltry vessels with life-saving water, but Immortan Joe’s generosity only extends so far and he cuts the flow. As the last precious drops fall on the crowd, their adoration turns violent as they fight over muddy pools.

Fury Road Minute 9 - You will rise from the ashes

Immortan Joe’s voice booms over loudspeakers as he salutes his Imperator, Furiosa, tasked with taking the War Rig to Gas Town and the Bullet Farm to deliver food and water in return for supplies. The wretched press toward the base of the Citadel as Immortan Joe places his hands on a pair of levers and opens the valves that release fresh water.

Fury Road Minute 8 - Rev it up for the Immortan Joe!

As the final pieces of his armor are secured in place, Immortan Joe dons his fearsome breathing mask and rises to his feet. Outside, the thronging masses crowd around The Citadel in anticipation for his arrival. With a shout from his Prime Imperator, Immortan Joe steps to the edge of his balcony and looks out over the wretched gathered below.

Fury Road Minute 7 - Fucacima kamakrazee

A closeup on a branded neck gives way to a massive elevator, slowly lowering a fearsome looking tanker covered in War Boys. As it reaches the ground, it’s rolled into place behind a hulking Rig, ready to pull it. Its driver, a woman with a robotic-looking arm, settles in behind the wheel. Elsewhere, the Warlord of the Citadel is attended by his Imperators.

Fury Road Minute 6 - Stop running, Max

As the War Boys clamor over each other to chase Him out of the flooded hallway, Max finds himself shoving through one set of double doors after another as he runs down a long corridor. Finally reaching the end, Max finds himself high above the ground with no way down except for a passing crane’s hook.

Fury Road Minute 5 - Hunted and haunted

Max throws off the War Boys that held him down and takes off running through the narrow, stone carved tunnels of The Citadel. He finds his Interceptor, being pulled apart by mechanics, but he has to press on to avoid capture. Eventually Max finds himself in a flooded tunnel, cornered he tries climbing up, but finds the way barred.

Fury Road Minute 4 - A man reduced

Max crawls away from his overturned interceptor, but he doesn’t get far as he’s quickly taken by the raiding party and dragged back to the imposing fortress known as The Citadel. Inside he is marked, shorn, and almost branded, but Max’s patience only lasts for so long and he lashes out at his captors, sending the white-washed grunts flying.

A band of War Boys roar onto the screen, hot on Max’s heels. Despite his speed, Max is quickly surrounded and a well placed explosive flips the interceptor, sending it rolling through the dirt. As it slides to a stop, Max emerges, dazed from the assault, his mind racing with thoughts of a child run down by a wasteland war party.
